Update V29 Oculus Quest presents great features to more users

Oculus today announced its V29 software update, which includes new features to play games and for corporate infinite office suites. In many ways, this can be seen as a direct follow-up to the large update of the Oculus launched in February, mostly because it develops on multi-user accounts and application sharing features launched on February updates.

In particular, multi-user accounts and sharing application will live for original search owners. Because we detailed it again in February, a multi-user account allows you to associate some Oculus accounts with a single headset, while the application distribution does what it says to the tin because it allows you to share certain games with all accounts on the device.

They also addition are quite direct but they are great for households that share a single headset. Oculus has also added a microphone arrest when using a casting search to a web feature or recording, which means that you can finally use your built-in headset mic to comment for your gameplay. In addition, iOS users get a new feature called Live Overlay, which is a casting and recording feature that allows you to use your cellphone camera basically exchanging yourself on whatever you see with your headset.

Oculus V29 also launched a new feature for Infinite offices, starting with IOS headset notifications. Android users will soon be able to see their phone notifications when using a search headset too, but that functionality will not be launched with V29. A new file application, which can be found in the application library, will allow you to browse and manage your local store files in VR. The Infinite Office also gets a passshrough environmental shortcut that lets you see what’s happening around you.

Last but obviously not important is the fact that Oculus said it would start testing ads in the Oculus application. It sounds like the ad will only advertise Oculus content – the idea can be difficult for developers to get their products to pay attention to more and more applications and games in Oculus stores – but we are not sure Oculus fans will also be excited about it. While V29 was not launched today, Oculus said it would be gradually rolling in the near future, so we would oversee more.
