Mobile Game Mobile may not be a direct port from PS Title

Gaming cellular continues to be a big business, especially last year when people around the world are mostly forced in the room and to the virtual world because of a pandemic. Apart from its popularity, however, some franchises and big names in the game industry are still absent from that room. The Sony Playstation has long been a delay in direct involvement in mobile games but it might change soon, it’s just not the way some people expect.

Playstation has, of course, hundreds of titles under the roof during its history for decades. Some of them even made him a smartphone, even though it was largely in an unofficial way and doubted legally. Some fans of the titles might be happy to play them on their mobile devices but it’s not exactly going to happen like that.

Instead, Sony will adopt a strategy similar to what Nintendo has done with some of his games on Android and iOS. GameSpot reported that Playstation head Jim Ryan raised the topic of the Playstation brand that came to the mobile at the company’s latest company strategy meeting. There, the Exec said that “Playstation has a large catalog of the IP first-party diverse who can transition to smartphone games and complete our AAA games or direct service games.”

It noted that Ryan talked about IP, the term business and law used to refer to property, franchises, brands, and characters. Most likely Sony will make new games around popular IPS specifically designed for cellular than the existing port title. The latter is at least technically possible, because the cellular emulation scene has been proven.

Whether it’s better rates than Nintendo in the strategy it still has to be seen. Nintendo brings several famous characters and franchises to cellphones, including iconic Mario, but only a few are really proven even profitable far. Some say that Nintendo does not get a cellphone and Sony may have a better chance in that case because it makes the Xperia smartphone itself.
