Nina Dobrev has ‘a long road of recovery ahead’ after hospitalization for biking accident
Nina Dobrev Faces a “Long” Recovery After Accident
Nina Dobrev, known for her role in “The Vampire Diaries,” is on the mend after an accident. The 35-year-old actress shared before-and-after photos on Instagram on Monday, depicting her hospitalization with multiple injuries.
“How it started vs how it’s going,” she captioned the post. The first photo shows her on an e-bike, while the second shows Dobrev in a hospital bed with a brace on her left leg and another around her neck.
“I’m OK but it’s going to be a long road of recovery ahead,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.
Her friend and business partner, Julianne Hough, reassured fans about Dobrev’s condition: “That’s my girl!” Hough commented. “Obviously wouldn’t make jokes if you were not ok…”
Dobrev’s boyfriend, Shaun White, shared an Instagram Story on Monday, showing her reclining in a private jet seat with her dog, Maverick. Her injured leg, in a brace, was elevated on a pillow.
Despite her injuries, Dobrev’s latest project, “Reunion,” a murder mystery comedy starring Lil Rel Howery, is set to release on June 28.
Since concluding her roles as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on “The Vampire Diaries” in 2017, Dobrev has been active in producing, acting, and directing.
“Telling provocative, interesting, and impactful stories for women by women has always been at the heart of many of the projects,” she said in a 2021 interview with Flaunt Magazine.
Reflecting on her career, Dobrev, who was born in Bulgaria and moved to Canada with her family, said, “When I first moved to the United States, there weren’t a lot of producing opportunities for me.”
“It took a while for me to get to where I am now, and part of it is me having the confidence and feeling like I can, but that was also because I didn’t see a lot of examples of it. At the beginning of my career, I didn’t have a lot of people to look up to in that world.”
