Twitch added more than 350 tags to help make more inclusive streaming
Twitch knew it had failed some marginalized communities, and took a few steps to push the flow more inclusive. Livestreaming services add more than 350 channel tags that reflect various communities, including those for gender and sexual orientation, ethnicity, ability and veteran status. You might just need to look for tags to find exactly the same streams with the community you want to talk to.
Tags must be available this week.
Twitch said it worked with organizations such as Glaad and Medicamers to develop tags next to the community itself. This site will also receive USVOICE advice, and will review the most popular suggestions every week has the potential to add it later. And yes, Twitch realizes that fanatics and trolls can abuse tags to harass the ribbon – which will face a sentence in line with the company’s anti-hate policy.
Tags certainly not intended as drugs. Critics argue that twitch must invest in a moderation tool to curb hatred and harassment, for example. This latest door can help viewers find friendly streams, and can grow communities that should gather under a more general category.
